The only difference between women's and Men's bathrooms......urinals (right?).
I believe this to be true because it was the one signal that went through my brain to my feet that said...."not the right bathroom".
To help explain:
I was in this dark (very dark) casual bar, which was also very crowded at the time. I headed to the restroom as usual by weaving in and out of the people. Finally, made it to the hallway where the restrooms were located. Now, this was not the first time at the bar, but it also is not a regular place for me.
Seeing the first door and one of the universal symbols for restrooms, I just walked in without thinking twice. Did I mention it was really dark? The restroom was completely empty at the time (a little odd for how many people are there, but nonetheless its a restroom). Half way in, it occurred to me..... I only see stalls (a little odd). Still continuing to walk forward, my mind finally clicked......OH SHIT!!! I walked into the women's restroom! (it was a little slow due to the effects of alcohol)
At this moment, I was happy no one was in the restroom and I can slip out without anyone knowing. I headed for the door as quickly as possible, but it was to late.....a girl started opening the door at the same time I was heading out. She freaked out and yelled at me. I appoligized as quickly as I could and tried to pretend as if I was looking for someone. It didn't work......she probably thought I was some perv.
Lesson here kids....no urinals equals women's bathroom. Take note of the universal symbol, that's what its there for.
I have ventured many times into the mens restroom, only because I hate the girls line and well not much for modesty and such so y'all have stalls I use them. Places have pretty distinct differences in looks for the mens and womens bathroom but there are a few that make the venture difficult.
You know you can be arrested for going into the wrong restroom? After I had used the mens restroom at the zoo, because there was an awesome huge line full of moms and children, others decided if she can do it I can too, well later I saw a women getting arrested for it guess guys get a bit pissed when you hold up their restroom.
First off...Hilarious.
Second, I did not know you could get arrested for going in the wrong restroom. That would be an ass raping in jail because who would be afraid of someone going into the wrong restroom.
As far as different distinct looks, is this for both inside and out? Because some places do look different from the outside, but again not sure about the inside.
The distinct looks mostly happen inside the restroom. The out sides get confusing sometimes, I hate when all they have is a symbol and it doesn't point you one way or the other.
I can understand confusion on the outside and drunk.
That's what I thought because I don't ever notice a difference outside.
The symbol is universal is it not? You know which to go to just based on that little figure.
