Public Restrooms are an integral part of our society and at times create unusual and uncomfortable situations. Nonetheless, we must all use them throughout our lives in several different locations. Everyone has seen some of the same scenarios when entering a public restroom, which are both disgusting and humorous. How many times have you left the restroom and told the person/people you are with what you saw or heard? We would bet the number would be pretty high.
Dane Cook, a comedian, has even done a skit during his stand-up about his experience in the public restroom. The skit is hilarious because it brings up points we can all relate to and wonder ourselves. Here at PeePublic, we believe a lot of people have humorous, disgusting, or interesting stories and questions about public restrooms they have encountered. So we would like to hear from everyone and you don't have to be a comedian like Dane Cook to tell an interesting public restroom story. Become a Member to start or simply comment on certain topics to become a part of the community.
To help explain a little more about PeePublic:
Were sure you almost immediately asked one of the following questions. As such, We would like to provide immediate answers to these questions.
-
1. What is PeePublic?
2. Why would anybody choose PeePublic as a title?
To answer the first question — What is PeePublic? PeePublic is a community designed to discuss issues, philosophies, questions, and stories regarding public restroom behaviors and scenarios. Much of these discussions are intended to not only be humorous or informative, but to bring light to why you see what you see in a public restroom.
Our hope as a community is to define and establish rules and regulations to guide restroom behavior, as well as to simply entertain.
Furthermore, it would be interesting to postulate why certain behaviors or situations occur. For example, in men’s restrooms, there is always at least one urinal of separation between Men perusing the urinals. As for females, it’s always been a curiosity as to why the women’s restroom line is so long relative to the men’s line. Without a doubt all users of restrooms have at one time silently asked questions like these or even these specific questions. In the PeePublic community, these private questions can be voiced and discussed anonymously.
As for the title "PeePublic":
To begin, the underlying philosophies are modeled after "The Republic" by Plato. In The Republic, Plato, through the voice of his mentor Socrates, participates in a dialogue to determine first what justice is, and secondly, the nature of it. As such, the creators of PeePublic felt that through a rigorous discussion via a community site, answers to common mind boggling questions and stories of restroom etiquette will be revealed. Given the content of the site, PeePublic was the obvious choice for a title. As a community we can try to breakdown the perfect restroom, as well as entertain.
As a member of PeePublic, be sure to take note of the physical layout of restrooms, the environment (restaurant, the ocean, house party, the bar, etc.), and other situations of the restrooms we make use of on a daily basis. Determine and bring these problem/praiseworthy aspects to the community to engage in rigorous discussion. Without a doubt, somebody somewhere will have encountered similar situations.
